Goodman Thermostat Connection

Conflicts of interest. Insurance, what the hell!

D years continuation of my previous post, another question about conflicts of interest and the mix between private and public interests. A GDR issue group which includes the Communists and Greens. The government response-confident now shows that the gap between the people and the people who govern them is widening every day a little more.

"Conflicts of Interest

Mr. Chairman. call Jacqueline Fraysse, for the group of the Left Democratic and Republican.

Jacqueline Fraysse . My question is for Mr. Prime Minister.

Since 2007, this government has accustomed us to blithely mixing private and public interests (Loud exclamations on the benches of the UMP group) , which leads to unacceptable situations and dangerous decisions.

Thus, the law on online gambling has helped some friends of the President of the Republic to regulate the societies in which they had taken sides.

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . Yes!

Jacqueline Fraysse . Similarly, pension reform, encouraging the development of pension funds, will directly benefit the President's brother.

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . Yes!

Jacqueline Fraysse . latter, general delegate of the group-Malakoff Médéric, has just launched, early this year, a pension fund in conjunction with the Deposit and Consignment. What flair! (Protests on the benches of the UMP.)

Another example, more dramatic, is provided by the case of the Mediator, produced by Laboratories Servier, two employees were advisers to Mr. Bertrand on his first was at the Ministry of Health. (Whoops on some benches groups GDR and CBC.)

lobbies, including finance, are at the heart of power. The issue of dependence may provide us with another example. The obstinacy of Nicolas Sarkozy, the Government and to offer Ms. Parisot dependence private insurers, even though 75% of our citizens are favorable to its solidarity and support public illuminates a particular day when we know that the Director General of the main mutual reinsurer has worked on this for three successive Labour ministers, including Mr. Bertrand, and that the former director general of social cohesion, another former associate of Mr. Bertrand (Shouts on the banks of the Group GDR and several benches group CBC) , has recently joined the private insurer Groupama.

Prime Minister, will you finally decide to put an end to conflicts of interest?

Mr. Chairman. Thanks ...

Jacqueline Fraysse . On the issue of addiction, will you decide to resist lobbies? (Applause Group GDR and from many benches group CBC).

Mr. Chairman. call Mr. Baroin, Minister of Budget, Public Accounts, the Civil Service and State Reform, spokesman for the Government.

Mr. Baroin, Minister of Budget, Public Accounts Civil Service and State Reform, spokesman for the Government. Mrs. Fraysse, stop making unnecessary accusations ...

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . Not unnecessary charges, it is the truth!

Mr. Chairman. Mr. Gremetz!

Mr. Baroin, minister. ... unworthy of issues of legislative work which tends to set stricter limits on conflicts of interest.

Let us together on the definition conflicts of interest, on the perimeter of a reform that should not lead to a form of criminalization of politics, because it would be more acceptable that the facts have been reported and who have shocked public opinion public.

You took some examples, we could cite others, rebours.Prenons the director's office of a senior minister, who has authority over the banking sector, and whose son, who studied , was destined for a career in this sector.

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . Who is this ? Names!

Mr. Baroin, minister. That will lead to a confrontation curious, a subversion of modern Kramer Kramer cons because if it leads to their conclusion the logic of certain ayatollahs, the criminalization of French society through public accountability ...

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . No prison for Members!

Mr. Chairman. Mr. Gremetz!

Mr. Baroin, minister. ... it will be the career of the father against son.

I hope that the consultation carried out here by members of the UMP and the Socialist Party - Mr. and Mrs. Grosskost Balligand - and the Senate, by parallelism of forms, through coordination between the majority and the opposition , allows to define the contours of what is acceptable in modern society today, in 2011.

is to determine the borders to prevent, in fact, any porosity between public activity and private activity.

Mr. Maxime Gremetz . Lawyers for Business!

Mr. Baroin, minister. But please, do not commit ourselves on a path that would lead us too far, what we regret, while a consensus is at hand ...

Pierre Gosnat . Blah, blah, blah!

Mr. Baroin, minister. ... and that can reach a respectable progress, for both policy makers and the entire high public service. (Applause on some benches of the UMP.). "
